About our Honorees:
Betty Jacobs has been an influential force in the Broadway community for 50 years, as a script consultant for Michael Bennett (director of A Chorus Line) and as a Tony Award nominator. Betty is the widow of Bernard B. Jacobs, the longtime President of The Shubert Organization. Betty has served on the Board of Directors of TheatreWorks USA and The New School of Drama under James Lipton. Betty is a longtime admired friend and supporter of Transport Group.
John Doyle received Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards as Outstanding Director of a Musical for his Broadway debut, Sweeney Todd. Last season his production of Company won the Tony for Best Musical Revival. John also directed A Catered Affair on Broadway, winner of the Drama League Award for Best Musical. John has been an admirer, friend and supporter of Transport Group since coming to New York in 2005.
